Stained Glass Commission
. . . the customer is always right!
This particular commission arrived at the studio as a circular panel in the top half of a 1930's front door!
The brief was to keep the original 'shield' intact, and place it inside a red circle, within a rectangular panel, with a critical dimension of 150mm from the top of the circle to the top of the rectangular panel; and then double glazed!
The process of commissioning a panel is as follows -
You provide your ideas on the design, 'finish' details, and size required.
I will draw the design to size, and invite you to make changes as you wish.
I will then match your desired colour scheme, as far as possible.
When, and only when you are satisfied with the cost, design and colour scheme; I will ask you for a fifty percent deposit, the balance being payable when the panel is finished.
Each piece will be priced indivually, but as a rule of thumb, commission rates range from £80 - £150 per square foot, plus materials and carriage at cost;
- please understand that more complicated panels will cost more -
in any event I will not start work until we agree on cost, design and colour scheme . . .
so no nasty surprises !
