Stained Glass Workshop Options
There are several workshop options available to those people who want to understand and experience the stained glass processes
- traditional leading, or foiling -
by making a piece of their own design.
Each workshop will cover design and drawing,
glass cutting and grinding, leading,
soldering, cementing and cleaning.
On a one day workshop, you can expect to make a small piece, a mirror or window hanger perhaps.
This option costs £150 and includes all materials.
The more popular option is to make a larger piece over two or three days, like Jordan in the photograph below.
This option costs £150 for the first day, but only £50 per day thereafter,
plus materials at cost.
Here you can see Jordan busy at work in his
firescreen design workshop.
On day 1 he drew his design and having decided on his colour scheme, cut each piece of glass, and ground to size where required.
On the morning of day 2 he continued with leading up his panel, and can be seen applying the flux before soldering. Before going home, he managed to cement the piece, ready for day 3, the final cleaning (and on this occasion, applying a black patina to the lead), polishing and mounting.

. . . . . and here we have the finished firescreen - stunning!
