Mrs Darley’s Introduction to Paganism and the Wheel of the Year

Paganism is a continually evolving spiritual connection that encourages us to search for our own truth and form our own relationship with divinity. That said, the majority of Pagans have a reverence for nature and acknowledge the presence of the Divine within the natural world.
In this workshop we will look at a few of the many paths that sit beneath the Pagan umbrella and explore some general beliefs that are held by many Pagans. We will ask what it is to be Pagan and what Paganism might mean to you as an individual.
Most Pagans celebrate and honour the constantly changing seasons through a variety of agricultural and astronomical festivals, generally known as the ‘Wheel of the Year’ and this is something we will explore together during the workshop.
If you wish to either expand, or consolidate your existing knowledge, or dip a toe in the water of this fascinating spiritual path, then this introductory workshop is for you.

  • Why choose Paganism?

Mrs Darley’s Sacred Circles – Part 1

Amidst the mayhem of modern life we often feel the need for a place or a space where we can be still, somewhere we can meditate, reflect, divine, honour the gods or celebrate the seasons.
When we follow an orthodox religion, we automatically have a special place in which to worship, whether this be a church, synagogue, temple or mosque. As followers of the Pagan path however, we do not have such luxuries, but what we do have is the freedom to create and build our own sacred space, where, when and how we wish.
Mrs Darley’s Scared Circles Part 1, explores the reasons why and the practicalities of how, we might create, use and release a simple sacred circle.

To include:

  • Why do we need to create a sacred space and is it always a requirement of magical practice?
  • Why a circle?
  • Before we begin - Cleansing, Grounding and Protecting
  • Physically marking out the space and setting up an altar
  • Understanding the purpose of the directions or quarters
  • How to create and release a simple sacred space
  • Spending time in the circle
  • Celebrating a festival or moon phase within the circle (relevant to the current moon phase or season)
DATE: Saturday 15th July 2017
TIME: 9.45am – 5 / 5.30pm
VENUE: Bewdley Worcestershire
COST: £69. To include, lunch, refreshments and all materials.

Mrs Darley’s Sacred Circles – Part 2

Once you understand the basics of creating a sacred space, you can begin to build upon it. A circle can be as simple or as complex as you might wish to make it, and in this second ‘Sacred Circles’ workshop, you will be encouraged to think about and create your own sacred space, based upon a deeper understanding of the four quarters, their directional correspondences and use of magical tools.

To include:

  • Re-cap on the creation of a simple circle
  • Elaborate upon creating the physical space and altar
  • Study the four directions in depth.
  • Gain an understanding of directional correspondences
  • The purpose of and how to use magical tools
  • Work together to create a circle, call the directions and decorate the altar for a seasonal or moon phase celebration

DATE: Saturday 9th September 2017
TIME: 9.45am – 5 / 5.30pm
VENUE: Bewdley, Worcestershire
COST: £69. To include, lunch, refreshments and all materials.
