'This latest offering by Carole Carlton is an excellent introduction into moon lore, phases, correspondences and the scientific exploration of this important heavenly body. Interspersed with lovely and intriguing anecdotes of Mrs. Darley's teachings, it is a book that explains clearly and concisely the correlation between Paganism and the moon. Even experienced Crafters can pick up some interesting facts and useful ideas from this well researched and well written book. For the 'newbies' to Paganism this is a 'must have' guide to one of the most sacred influences on the human mind and body.' (By B Dickinson 'Crystalbee' Wales UK 2010)

'I always dread follow on books and sequels as I'm often disappointed but Mrs Darley's Moon Mysteries certainly dispels these fears. The book explores all aspects of the moon whilst my favourite title character encourages the author to understand the moon's influences by inviting her to take part in some strange but wonderful moon events. Full of mystery with a promise of magic. A great follow on book to Pagan Whispers.' (By Selene 9-2-10)

'This is the book that lead me to read the "series" of the Mrs Darley's tales - I enjoyed this book as it enlightened me to so many old traditional celebrations, where they originally came from and why they are celebrated - so interesting, so well written and so entertaining - brilliant! (By Cinzia on 18 May 2014)

'Very well written, full of facts and folklore of the moon. Carole takes us on a magical journey through the cycles of the moon with the wonderful Mrs Darley.'(By Laura Campbellon 14 February 2014)

July 2018

What an active month this is.
Planets visible this month are Mercury, Venus and Jupiter in the evening sky and Mars and Saturn in the early morning sky.
On the 13th there is a partial solar eclipse, albeit, it will only be visible from south Australia and the Indian and Pacific oceans.
The 13th also brings the birth of the new Wort Moon which also happens to be the nearest new moon to earth of the year.
On the 15th the Capricornid meteor shower is at its height.
On the 27th we are treated to a full lunar elcipse in the sign of Aquarius, which will be visible from the UK as the moon begins to rise at 20.49. The colours won't be as deep initially due to the moon being so close to the horizon. The eclipse will be total at 21.21 and will end at 00.28. This will also be the smallest new moon of the year.
These eclipses denote challenging times where nothing can stay the same if we are to survive and thrive. Expect the unexpected.
May the Summer gods smile down kindly on us all.
