June 2018

The beautiful month of June is already upon us and I often feel that I am never ready for the fact that the light will once again begin to diminish later this month as we celebrate the sun being at the height of his power.
The Summer Solstice falls on the 21st this year at 12.07 and just two days later we celebrate Mid-summer's Eve (don't forget to leave out milk and cake for the fae). This is a magickal time, one of three occasions when the veil is thin and the portal to otherworlds often lie open...
The June new Moon is born on the 13th and is known as the Blessing, Mead or Honey Moon. The full Moon meanwhile falls on the 28th June and is the most southerly Moon of the year.
Jupiter and Venus are both visible in the evening this month, whilst the planets of Mars and Saturn are visible in the morning sky, just before dawn.
May the magick of Mid-summer be yours.
