Smell is one of the most undervalued of the senses, yet without it our world and our lives would be much poorer. This talk explores the value of smell, its powerful effect on the brain and how it is ultimately able to affect our mood and emotions.
Please note: As there will be the opportunity to inhale different essential oils during the talk, please take care if you suffer from asthma.
Tea - The Great British Cure for all Ills - Carole Carlton
Discover the wonder of tea, from its discovery hundreds of years ago by a Chinese Emperor, to it being the cause of both the Opium wars and the American War of Independence. In ths workshop we explore the niceties of the Japanese tea ceremony to the delights of taking afternoon tea in civilized society. We also discover a myriad of health benefits attributed to this unassuming plant and take time to explore and inhale the aromas of several different teas.
Dancing with the Enchantress - A Journey into the Magick and Mystery of Lunar Lore - Carole Carlton
There are very few people who can stand beneath the light of a full fat moon and fail to be bewitched. The moon is our only satellite, here on earth and without her, the earth would be a very different place. This talk looks at the many roles of the moon and its effects here oupon the earth. We also investigate whether the moon is capable of affecting our moods and behaviour and discover how I personally became entranced by the moon through the teachings of Mrs Darley.
